JL paint sample (better pics)

Postby Pontiecast » Thu Jan 26, 2012 11:23 pm

Very rarely do I have the opportunity, or the cash, to purchase a rare piece. I was VERY lucky last year at the DCS convention to pick up some Muscle Machine prototypes. I saw the newsletter '67 GTO come up for sale over on RLOL (pic posted in HW forum) and along with it was this piece. A Johnny Lightning Trans Am paint sample. Not so much a prototype, but a very cool piece! Hard to tell in the pic, but is dark blue.

Thanks Pete. Sorry the pic was blurry. Here are some slightly better ones.....

The bag it came in from the factory. Guessing P375 is the casting number. MF is metal flake. Of course 8-26-03 is the date.

Looks black, but it's actually blue.

Shined a flashlight On the car to show the blue metal flake.

And the markings from the bag on the car.

Almost think it would be cool to get a regular JL Trans Am and put this body on it. Hmmmmmm.....
